

Assistant professor
Arthur H. Mills II is assistant professor of intelligence studies at Mercyhurst College. He received a B.A .degree in History from Gannon University in Erie, and an M.A. in History from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, with concentrations in Early Modern and Modern Europe, and Modern Germany. He served as a US Department of State Foreign Service Officer for 22 years, with overseas postings in Latin America, Africa, Europe, and South Asia, as well as assignments in the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research, where he specialized in Terrorism Analysis. Professor Mills joined the Mercyhurst Intelligence Studies program in 2005, concentrating on Writing and Communications and the History of Intelligence.
Professor Mills teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses within the Department of Intelligence Studies and the Department of History. Past and present courses include:

Professor Mills is currently working on the US connections with Rhodesia during the UDI period, as well as the background of Rhodesian Intelligence operations.
