UNDERGRADUATE ON-LINE CERTIFICATE

An undergraduate level Certificate in Intelligence Studies will be offered by the Department of Intelligence Studies at Mercyhurst College beginning in September, 2007. It will be awarded upon successful completion of six, three-credit undergraduate courses (18 total credits). A post-baccalaureate Advanced Certificate in Applied Intelligence will be awarded to enrollees who hold a prior undergraduate degree.
ONLINE CERTIFICATE GENERAL INFORMATION
The courses will be delivered over the internet and will be facilitated by members of the Department of Intelligence Studies faculty. Courses will include lectures and reading and emphasize individual exercises and small group projects.
Enrollment in the certificate program is limited to current practitioners in law enforcement, intelligence, security, and related fields. Admission is based on professional accomplishment and potential and is highly competitive.
Curriculum
Enrollees will typically complete one course in each of six consecutive ten week terms. Required courses are listed below.
Timetable
Applications will be accepted between March 1, 2007 and May 15, 2007. Admission decisions will be communicated by June 30, 2007. The first group of admitted students will begin the program in early September, 2007 and complete the program in April, 2009.
Costs
Tuition for Fall 2007 is $1,800 per three credit course. The cost of books and materials will vary but is expected to average $200 per course. These materials may be ordered through the college bookstore. A confirmation deposit of $300 is required upon acceptance into the program. This deposit will be credited toward the course tuition and is not refundable.
