VENONA PROJECT
The VENONA Project at Mercyhurst College involved the re-keying of over 2,900 intercepted documents in their original format by Intelligence Studies students over the VENONA Project Samplelast six years, and those documents are now in an exploitable format.

VENONA was a secret program, which commenced in February of 1943, involving the interception and decryption of Soviet diplomatic communications. The VENONA project is most famous for exposing the Julius and Ethel Rosenberg spy ring.

The Institute for Intelligence Studies is currently considering a variety of formats for the release of the completed, fully searchable VENONA files and release is expected in the near future.
